„Who hasn’ t Záhorie, doesn’ t know is nice“
In the immediate vicinity from our resort you can find something unique in Slovakia – drifting(eolithic)sands. They were created by wind activity and originate from the Quaternary Period. They offer a magnificent, exotic look at the sand dunes overgrown with pine forests.
Directly from our hotel you can set out on a walking trip to the ruins of the Korlátka castle, located within the Cerová commune. Back in the day it was one of the castles protecting the internationally significant trade route called Česká cesta.
You can spot the impressive silhouette of the ruins of this once mighty castle from several places in our park. This castle originated as a royal border fortress, and there is an underground system of cave- like tunnels underneath it. The neighbouring Pohanská hill used to be a Celtic fort. You can reach the Plavecký castle from the village called Plavecké Podhradie, which is some 12 km from Prievaly.
Česká cesta (Via Bohemica), leading through the Southeast of Slovakia, was a significant ancient trade route connecting Prague with Budín (Budapest). It was part of a longer, Europe- wide trade route that led all the way from shores of the Atlantic Ocean to Bosporus. Part of the Via Bohemica is today identical with a tourist track (follow the blue tourist sign from the Rozbehy cottage to the Buková water reservoir).

Since 2011 there is a small brewery in Prievaly, with the production capacity of 1000 hl of beer per year. This brewery was built through reconstruction of the original rooms of the Šandorfský šenk pub. A new building was added in 2012, in the basement of which there are attractive and unique beer baths with wellness– as of now they are the only beer baths in Slovakia.

A boat cruise on the so called Baťa’s canal can be another memorable and very enjoyable experience. You can hire the boat in the Skalica port.
The basilica of the Virgin Mary of Seven Grievances is not only a Slovakia- wide, but also an internationally known pilgrimage site. However, the beauty and mightiness of this baroque era church is a good reason for everyone to visit this place. The distance from Prievaly is 29 km and from Skalica it is 26 km.
This church is located near the village of Kopčany, 48 km from Prievaly and 11 km from Skalica.
